DreamSlice International was founded early in 2006 after resort property values jumped beyond practical reach for most buyers. Despite the increase of home prices, vacation homes are empty a majority of the time. Desirable vacation homes are a precious financial, environmental and recreational resource. They can have high carrying costs and are often significantly underutilized.
On the other hand, the average fractionalized vacation home is professionally cleaned and maintained, and more people enjoy it at a more reasonable cost. Co-owners benefit from the appreciation of the property and the local economy benefits from increased visitors during quiet seasons without increasing peak season crowds. Shared ownership is the logical solution for vacationers and resort communities. The market reflects this logic as fractional sales make up an increasing percentage of total real estate volume.
