Come to Red if You Like to Shred
Red Resort Visit Blog I’m now in Rossland, British Columbia at Red Resort, and I’m here to report that I hate Murphy and his Law!! Monday and Tuesday were the best skiing days here in anyone’s memory, and I was in the rain at Port Townsend. I flew from Seattle to Spokane and drove for hours through the dark snowy night, then got here just in time for the snow to turn to rain. Yesterday dawned foggy and rainy and with the bulk of the mountain closed down due to high avalanche danger. They eventually got it all open, and the skiing here really is fantastic even in poor conditions. Red has some of the best steep tree skiing to be found anywhere and it is truly an expert skiers’ paradise. The developers here are transforming this sleepy resort into a world class destination. They have me staying in their brand new condo building at the ski area base—a mere snowball’s throw away from the ski lifts. The condos are really nice. They feature hard wood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and many custom details. The buildings feature a recreation and exercise room and ski locker rooms, and each unit has its own deck with hot tubs on each. After recovering a bit from skiing I went out last night to a really nice dinner at Gypsies at Red in the Red Robs building about 100 yards away from where I’m staying. The food there never disappoints, and last night was no exception. Stay tuned for more on this trip as well as videos.
